One of the things we value most at Gallery Dental Modern Wellness is curiosity.
Curiosity keeps us learning. It helps us grow as healthcare providers, teammates, and people. It encourages us to ask better questions, explore new ideas, and stay open to different perspectives.
Learning doesn’t only happen through continuing education courses or research journals, though.
Sometimes it happens through a podcast on the drive to work.
A book before bed.
A two-minute video that shifts your perspective.
Or a conversation that makes you see something in a completely new way.
For me, reading and listening have become an important part of my own well-being. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to become consumed by routines, responsibilities, and the constant pace of everyday life. Being able to step into someone else’s world for a little while—whether it’s through a book, a podcast, or a thoughtful conversation—helps me slow down, reset, and come back with a fresh perspective.
Some resources challenge the way I think. Others simply make me laugh. Both have value.
I’ve found that the ideas that stay with me often show up in unexpected places: the way I communicate, the way I solve problems, the way I work with our team, and even the conversations I have with family, friends, and patients.
Everyone on our team has different interests, which is one of the things that makes sharing recommendations so much fun. Some of us gravitate toward health and wellness, while others enjoy leadership, psychology, storytelling, or podcasts that simply make us smile.
So we thought we’d start sharing what’s currently inspiring us.
Here’s what our team has been reading and listening to lately.

🎧 Listening to: A Hot Dog Is a Sandwich
“This podcast is one of my favorites because it’s lighthearted and funny, but somehow always sparks surprisingly thoughtful conversations. The hosts debate seemingly ridiculous questions—like whether cereal is soup or if a hot dog is actually a sandwich—but those conversations often turn into bigger discussions about culture, perspective, and the way we think. It’s a great reminder that curiosity doesn’t always have to be serious to be meaningful.”
📚 Currently Reading: Wolfish by Erica Berry
“I’m still making my way through Wolfish, but I’ve loved how it explores the stories we tell ourselves about fear and how those narratives shape the way we move through the world. It’s thoughtful, beautifully written, and has definitely made me stop and think.”
Kelly, Front Office
🎧 Listening to: JOY 101 by Hoda Kotb
“I’ve absolutely loved the JOY 101 app. It’s filled with little nuggets of wisdom about wellness—both inside and out. One of my favorite features is the daily two-minute videos from different wellness experts. You can personalize the topics based on what you’re interested in, so it feels like it’s made just for you. It’s become something I genuinely look forward to every day.”
Rachael, Patient Care Coordinator
🎧 Listening to: The Mel Robbins Podcast
“I’ve been loving The Mel Robbins Podcast! Every episode leaves me with something practical to think about, and I love the variety of guests she brings on. It’s become one of my favorite podcasts for inspiration, personal growth, and learning something new.”
Susan, Dental Assistant
📚 Reading & 🎧 Listening to: The Let Them Theory & The Mel Robbins Podcast
“I’ve always loved Mel Robbins. I’ve read and listened to The Let Them Theory, and I even had my daughters read it too. Earlier this year, we went to see her live in Minneapolis, which made the experience even more meaningful. Her message is inspiring, thought-provoking, and has helped me in so many ways. Sometimes I wish I had learned these lessons 30 years ago—but I’m so grateful my girls get to grow up with them.”
Jocelyn, Dental Hygienist
📚 Reading: The Inner Work: An Invitation to True Freedom and Lasting Happiness by Mathew Micheletti & Ashley Cottrell
“I love The Inner Work. I find it incredibly motivating and inspiring, and one of my favorite things about it is how approachable it feels. It offers practical ideas that are easy to fold into everyday life, making personal growth feel achievable instead of overwhelming.”
We’ll continue adding to this post as more of our team shares what’s been inspiring them. Check back soon to see what everyone has been reading and listening to lately.
