Why We Are Intentionally Living Our Epic Summer!

Building a Healthier Team So We Can Better Care for Our Patients

One of the things we talk about often at Gallery Dental Modern Wellness is that you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Healthcare is incredibly rewarding, but it’s also demanding.

Every day, our team shows up ready to listen, solve problems, support patients through anxiety, celebrate life-changing moments, and provide thoughtful care. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

But we also know that caring for others starts with caring for the people providing that care.

That’s where Epic Summer came from.

More Than a Summer Calendar

Epic Summer isn’t a marketing campaign or a competition.

It’s simply our way of being intentional about spending time together, taking care of ourselves, and creating moments that remind us why we love what we do.

Throughout the summer, we’ve made it a priority to step away from our routines and connect in different ways.

Sometimes that looks like movement.

Sometimes it’s learning.

Sometimes it’s simply laughing together.

And honestly, all of those things matter.

Moving Together

Every Thursday, our hygienist Helen—who is also a certified barre instructor—leads our team through a barre class.

It’s a chance to move our bodies after spending long days caring for patients.

Some of us are better at it than others.

There are plenty of laughs.

And that’s part of the point.

Movement doesn’t have to be perfect to be valuable.

It’s simply one way we support our physical and mental well-being together.

Making Memories Outside the Office

This summer we’re also doing things that have nothing to do with dentistry.

We’re heading to a Billy Idol concert.

We’re spending a weekend together at a Christmas-in-July cabin retreat, where we’ll continue learning, sharing ideas, building new skills, and giving ourselves time to unwind.

Because relationships aren’t built only during meetings.

They’re built around campfires.

On road trips.

During conversations that have nothing to do with work.

Those moments create trust, and trust makes us a stronger team.

Wellness Doesn’t Mean Perfection

If you’ve followed us for a while, you know we’re passionate about wellness.

But wellness doesn’t mean saying no to everything fun.

It doesn’t mean every meal has to be perfectly balanced or every day has to look the same.

Some days we’re encouraging one another to get outside, drink more water, or hit the gym.

Other days we’re sharing pizza after a busy afternoon or celebrating summer with popsicles in the office.

For us, wellness has never been about perfection.

It’s about consistency.

It’s about balance.

And it’s about enjoying life while taking care of yourself along the way.

Why This Matters to Our Patients

You might be wondering…

What does any of this have to do with dentistry?

For us, everything.

When we know one another well, we communicate better.

When we communicate better, we work together more seamlessly.

When we enjoy coming to work, it creates an environment where patients feel that positivity, too.

The relationships we build behind the scenes become part of the experience our patients have every time they walk through our doors.

The Bigger Picture

Epic Summer is really just a reflection of something we’ve always believed.

Healthcare should feel human.

That starts with how we care for our patients.

But it also starts with how we care for each other.

We’re proud of the team we’re building.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to keep learning and growing together.

And if that journey includes a few barre classes, a Billy Idol concert, a cabin weekend, and the occasional popsicle along the way…

We’d say that’s a pretty great summer.
